Mike Evemy writes to the Swindon Advertiser about judging locations for a gypsy site

9.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Tue 6th May 2008

"Congratulations to Chris Howe, the Lindisfarne resident who chaired the public meeting in Wootton Bassett on Thursday (Swindon Advertiser, 3 May) for making it clear that attacks on gypsies will not be tolerated.

Conservative-run North Wiltshire District Council's belated consultation must ensure that the planning issues of the six proposed sites and any others suggested together with the wishes of the local travellers should be the criteria used to judge the locations.

Let us hope that MP James Gray and local residents listen to Chris and others who remind us that everyone deserves respect."
