"Tories on the Run in North Wilts!" - Fox

12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Sun 24th Apr 2005

As the Liberal Democrat campaign continues to gather momentum in North Wiltshire the Conservatives have shown their desperation by releasing a negative leaflet. Claiming to give examples of various tax increases that would ensue should a Liberal Democrat government be returned on 5th May the leaflet represents a typical Tory bid to make the election about negative issues.

Paul said: "This is evidence that we have the Tories on the run in North Wilts. That they feel the need to become so negative so early in the campaign shows that they are desperately grasping at straws. We will continue to concentrate on positive issues rather than descend into a Tory mud slinging match. I hope that my opponent can now rise above such dirty tactics and fight this election on issues rather than dirty tricks."
