Fox wants to see Action Today, Health Tomorrow for people with diabetes.10.51.48pm BST (GMT +0100) Wed 13th Apr 2005
Local Parliamentary candidate Paul Fox is adding his support to Diabetes UK's campaign to improve NHS healthcare for people living with diabetes in North Wiltshire. Diabetes is a serious, progressive condition, affecting the 1.8 million people who are diagnosed with the condition in the UK. Diabetes can lead to blindness, kidney failure, heart disease, stroke and lower limb amputation. Paul Fox is supporting Action Today, Health Tomorrow because it is important that Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) are delivering the best diabetes care in North Wiltshire. "I am pleased to support this important cause," said Paul. "It is vital that the NHS introduces measures to ensure effective monitoring and treatment of diabetes. We must try to find a long term plan to deal with diabetes in the UK and I believe the Action Today, Health Tomorrow campaign presents a viable way forward for diabetes treatment." He continued, "It is a key element of Liberal Democrat health policy to encourage prevention of health problems over waiting for problems to emerge before treating them. This is something I personally support and hope to see promoted throughout the NHS in the future."
